In the time of a global pandemic there has never been a greater need to learn CPR. Many of us citizens are doing our part to help reduce/stop the spread. Many of us have been asked to quarantine or stay-at-home to stop the spread, but it also involves us knowing how to administer live saving skills should a situation arise. Hospitals are reaching high capacities so it is imperative that bystanders have the skills to aid, if a life threatening situation arises.

ONLINE BLS WITH SKILLS CHECK

Basic Life Support (BLS) 

The AHA’s BLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers caring for patients both in prehospital and in-facility environments. Recommended for: MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, Nursing Students and Medical Personnel, etc.

The BLS course covers:

• Adult and Pediatric CPR
• Two-Rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
• Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
• Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
• Special resuscitation situations
• Stroke and cardiac arrest
• Other cardiopulmonary emergencies

Blended learning is a combination of eLearning (online portion), in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. After completing the online portion through the AHA (purchased separately), students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. 

The blended options are great for those with busy lifestyles and for those looking to maintain safe social distances Parts 1 & 2 are completed from the comfort of ones home. Part 3 will take place in a sanitized environment with no more than 3 students socially distanced and no sharing of equipment. If a remote skills session was purchased the skills will be demonstrated via video conferencing. ONLINE ASHI CPR AED & BASIC FIRST AID WITH REMOTE SKILLS

American Health & Safety Institute Online First Aid CPR AED 

This provides first/lay responders with training in basic first aid and CPR AED procedures (Adult/Child only modules including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA. 

Upon successful completion, a remote skills assessment will need to be scheduled. Students must have a smartphone with camera or a computer (laptop, desktop, tablet) with webcam for the skills session. Once the skills covered in the course are correctly demonstrated via video conferencing, and the rental manikin is returned, a two-year ASHI certification card is provided. 

Included is the blended course, digital certification card, remotes skill video. HSI will ship a Preston Ultra Lite manikin and training supply kit that will need to be returned via prepaid return tag.
